The Disgorging of the Big Yellow Truck

by thubten

This morning we emptied the truck into the storage unit. I had done a search for storage facilities that weren’t TOO far from the motel, and weren’t too far from where we wanted to live. We chose the Public Storage on Division at SE 91st Avenue.  The manager there, Monty, was friendly and easy to work with. It only took a couple of hours to unload the truck into the unit, much easier than the loading in Denver.

We left some furniture and boxes of other items on the truck to donate at the Goodwill down the street on the way back to the motel. We have probably given away  or sold four tons of stuff during this move. It’s been an amazingly freeing experience.

This move sounds so much like mine. Getting rid of stuff, books and lots of good stuff too. Lots of great stuff really but still stuff. I am in a 1 bedroom apt. with only 2 closets. So , everything is on a simpler scale. I think having a companion person would make it all a lot more fun. Because, I am already thinking of moving to whatever is next. I like nature, trees, grass, etc.
