The Produce Market

Uncle Paul's Produce Market

Uncle Paul’s Produce Market on SE Hawthorne at 24th

Uncle Paul’s Produce Market is essentially a permanent farmers’ market. Within walking distance from my place. Uncle Paul’s provides me a perfect opportunity to get some exercise in, and to procure perfect produce each and every day.

Much of the produce is locally grown, and about one third of the selection is certified organic. The one thing about Uncle Paul’s that’s not like a farmers’ market is the prices. While I have not done an official price comparison, prices seem to be comparable to New Seasons and Whole Foods.

The organic selections are usually more expensive than their conventional counterparts, although not always.  I’ve been adding more fresh juice to my diet, using a recipe I got from @MattMonarch’s Raw Food World TV Show on YouTube. I use 2# of carrots, one head of celery, one apple and half of one head of fennel. It’s simple and tasty.  I use ONLY organic produce for juicing.

I think that is a great idea. After seeing the celery thing, I think you should consider cutting down on the volume to shrink your stomach.
